CHRISTMAS BOOT - Papier-Mâché CHRISTMAS BOOT - Papier-Mâché CHRISTMAS BOOT - Papier-Mâché CHRISTMAS BOOT - Papier-Mâché

That’s right – this is the same boot we have made in the autumn, but now coloured in red and prepared for Christmas 🙂 It can be used as Christmas decoration, vase, food or pencil holder. We have put a glass in the boot.

An old rubber boot (No. 24) served us as a basis. The pages of an old book and diluted water-based glue served us too. The good thing is that when ready you can use the rubber boot again as a shoe.CHRISTMAS BOOT - Papier-Mâché

We tore the pages to small pieces, dipped them in the diluted glue and then covered the boot with the mixture. We left the sole uncovered so that we could take out the boot easily.

When it is well dried up, the boot comes out very easily. If it seems thin to you, you may repeat the procedure, putting a second layer of torn paper.

We cut a cardboard sole for the open part of the boot and covered it with torn pieces of paper, too.

When you are ready, colour the boot with acrylic paint. Make the dots with the rubber of a pencil dipped in white acrylic paint.
