Marbled EGGS with Onion Skin Pieces
We saw the idea here. It was a long time since we made such picturesque eggs. It’s easy and the results are impressive.
Use only the dry upper layers of onion skin. Cut them into small pieces with scissors.
Wet the raw egg and roll it in the onion pieces.
Put it into a nylon sock or a piece of gauze. Tie it tightly so the onion skin pieces will cling to the shell. Now you may hard-boil the eggs (I forgot to take a photo of this step). 🙂
When the eggs are hard-boiled, take them out of the water and use liquid egg dye or ordinary dye that’s been dissolved in a bit of water and vinegar, to drip various colors over the egg shells. That’s it 🙂
When they are dyed and slightly dried, remove the sock/gauze. You may wash any onion skins that won’t come off at the sink – the marble effect would remain 🙂
Hola.
¿cómo quito la cáscara del huevo si está crudo? Entiendo según los pasos que el ¡huevo se cuece cuando está dentro del calcetín.
Gracias
