SCRATCHING-ART-TechniqueТhis is called sgrafitto, or scratching technique. You start by preparing the ‘board’ you’ll be scratching from.

  1. Cover a sheet of paper (cardboard is better) densely with wax crayons.
  2. Add three layers of black tempera paint. Wait for the paint to dry well between layers.
  3. Leave the paper to dry very well for a few hours.
  4. Scratch your drawing with the end of the brush or a lolly stick.
