This fun toy might be simple, but it’s very charming and we do love it.

An owl drawing who climbs upwards when we pull the two strings apart – and descends when we move them closer to each other.

We used one of my daughter’s thousand drawings 🙂 We chose THE OWL. We glued it on sturdier cardboard then cut away the background.

The mechanism at the back is more interesting, but it’s still quite simple.

You will need: a drinking straw, a longer piece of string, a larger coin and two beads. See photos for the exact method of putting them together, then hang the whole toy from a window or door handle. Attach the coin with sticky tape to weigh down the toy.
