buhti

Fried food is not good for the kids… but it’s OK if you don’t eat too much of it. I prefer making breakfast myself (even if I fry something) to buying cornflakes or some other kind of cereal. At least I know what products I used, and my daughter gets to help out, too – cutting the shapes with a cookie cutter (I read somewhere that we should never let the kds stay idle… and I liked it a lot).

Buhti (pl. of ‘buhta’) are a traditional Bulgarian breakfast food. Their name comes from the verb ‘бухвам’, ‘to rise’.
