Three Little CLAY PRESENTS
People have often asked me where to find real clay in Sofia.. ours is from Керамит, but I don’t know whether they make deliveries for small quantities. If you don’t have plain clay, you may use the fast-drying type you won’t have to bake.
Свещник-жабка, цвете-купа и ръка, която може да се използва за съдче.
1.Frog candleholder
We have used clay as the basic material. We scrunched a piece of paper for the mouth and molded the clay around it. We made little slits to make it easier to attach the eyes.. and to make sure they will not fall off when the frog is dry.
When we are ready, we remove the paper carefully. If there are any cracks, we smooth them by hand.
We draw in the eyes and the mouth with a toothpick. We color the frog with tempera or acrylic paints.
2. A hand with a heart
Roll out a large piece of clay on some baking paper (to make it easier to transfer). Trace your hand (or a hand outline). REmove the clay outside the contour with a toothpick or a sharp knife. Transfer to a suitable baking mold, making sure the ends are slighly curved upwards. Draw in some patterns with a sharp object. Remove the paper when the hand is fully dry.
Color with tempera or acrylic paints.
3. Flower bowl
Take out a suitable bowl and divide the clay into several parts – identical for the petals and a larger one for the circle in the center. Shape each petal by hand, making sure it’s not too thin or it might break. Scratch the lower part for better cohesion, so the parts of the flower will stick together well.
Arrange them in a circle, making sure they overlap well.
Scratch the lower side of the central circle, too – for better cohesion. Press well with your fingers and shape the flower.
Secure the parts together by making holes (like a running stitch) at the places where they overlap. You can use a toothpick or a wooden skewer.
Color with tempera or acrylic paints.
Me encantan las ideas, son muy originales.
how do you make the clay part?
