Plastic Bottle APPLES

Each of these red, green and yellow apples were made from the bottoms of 2 plastic bottles.
We snipped the edge a couple of times to make one half fit into the other. We used acrylic paints to color the apples – acrylics become water-resistant as they dry.

We covered the shape twice, waiting for the paint to dry well each time.

We used paper rope and some pipe-cleaners for the leaf. The only difficulty was making a hole to insert the stalk and the leaf. We hid the edge between the two halves with a pretty ribbon.

In this version we didn’t paint over the apple – just filled it with soft cotton balls.
