A couple of days ago, as I was buying patches for my daughter’s jeans, a very nice dad came in an asked about knitting needles for kids. 🙂

I immediately suggested our technique of using wooden hair sticks (you can iu them at hair accessory stores).

They make it easier to show the kid the actual mechanics of crocheting. It’s not as easy as it seems… So if you’re also wondering where you can find short, thick and rounded knitting needles so your kids can learn to crochet without hurting themselves or getting all tangled in yarn, try a pair of wooden hair sticks.

Use the thickest colored yarn you can find 🙂
