I was specifically looking for a recipe where the dough could be modeled in this manner… it’s perfect for little hands – soft and pliable, suitable for all sorts of shapes. Plus, you can use it in two colors – white and brown.

170g butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp cocoa powder

Whisk the butter and the sugar together. Add the yolks and the vanilla and mix well. Add the flour and the salt and knead everything into a soft dough. You may need to add a bit more flour to get the texture right.
Divide the dough in two and mix one part with the cocoa powder. Make the cookies then bake them for 15-18 min at 180-200 C in a preheated oven. They will be ready when the ends start to turn golden. Leave them on the baking sheet to cool for approx. 5 minutes, or they could break when you pick them up.
