SALT DOUGH Christmas Ornaments
Тake a look at our Christmas ornaments! It did take some time to make them, but it was well worth it. My daughter and I worked together on this project. We made the shapes out of salt dough. Here is the recipe:
A cup of flour, 1/2 cup salt, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, 1/2 cup of water.
After making the shapes (try not to roll the dough too thickly as it can be hard to dry or bake), use a toothpick to make a faux running stitch. If you want to attach some part, use the toothpick again to secure it.
This is how the dried shapes look. Do not forget to make a little hole for hanging 🙂 Не забравяйте да направите дупчица за връзване след това:) If one of your shapes gets broken, you can fix it with instant glue.
Color them with tempera or watercolor paints. Bearing in mind the quality of most cheap watercolor paints, I would recommend tempera. After the paint is dry on one side, color the back and the sides.
To make them shine, cover with PVA glue and sprinkle some glitter over them.
We did, because our little girls are so fond of all things that sparkle!
One question – how long and at what temp did you bake the ornaments for? Thank you!
