Christmas woods

U haven’t seen the wood myself, but the pictures Iva sent me are surely full of beauty. This is her family’s Christmas calendar. So pretty – and so easy to make! The only thing you need is time. Inside every paper tree there is a little task for each day before Christmas.

You will need colored cardboard quarter-circles, paper wire and colored coconut fibres to cover the cones.

Glue (or sew) the paper wire to the cardboard. Make the cone, then paste the whole surface with glue. Cover it with coconut threads, then decorate with beads, ribbons and sequins. Use a hot-glue gun to speed up the process.

Put a polystyrene foam circle in the base to support the tree ‘trunk’. This will help you stick the trees on a surface of painted or decorated Styrofoam.
