I have already written how good it is for children’s fine motor skills to string different objects together. I haven’t seen big boxes with large beads in Bulgaria. Here’s an idea that will show you how to make them yourself. You can use the same method to color cous-cous or other types of pasta for colorful collages.

You will need penne pasta (thicker so they won’t break easily), spirit, egg dye and ziploc plastic bags. Put the dye in the bag and pour a little spirit to dissolve. Add the pasta and close well. Shake to mix well, then open it so the spirit could evaporate faster.

The pasta will be ready to string after 20-30 minutes. You can make a whole package of colored pasta and leave it in a plastic box. You can be sure that your child will often reach out for them, so be ready to wear a whole lot of pasta jewelry!
