Tissue-Paper LANTERNS

kids craft for valentine’s day

Tissue-paper heart lanterns

You will need empty jars (low, wide ones work best), tissue paper, pipe-cleaners and diluted PVA glue.

Tissue paper is a wonderful material – it’s colorful, it’s pretty (even when it’s crumpled) and it is beautifully translucent.

Break the tissue paper into small parts and start pasting them on the outside of the jar, covering them on both sides with PVA glue. When the whole jar has been covered, wait until it dries completely, then cut out a few hearts and paste them on. Use pipe-cleaners or metal wire to make a handle for hanging your lantern.
